It kind of depends on a case by case basis. Game like State of Decay 2, Gears 5, Bleeding Edge, Master Chief Collection, Sea of Thieves, and Minecraft Dungeons have been giving DLC for free. However, you have to pay for the Forza Horizon 4 DLC packs. Even Destiny 2 is getting future DLC, though I’m sure that’s a very specific case.

ps5 controller X FH5. Is there any way to play Forza Horizon 5 with ps5 dualsense controller? You can use DS4Windows to play with a PS5 controller. If you have issues with it connecting select ‘hide ds4 controller’ in the options and that should fix it. It isn’t perfect because the adaptive triggers aren’t supported. But it gets the job

Imo, Forza Horizon 5 isn't that much of an upgrade to warrant a much higher price. Granted, the map is much bigger, but at the same time it gets boring faster than the one in FH4 (because FH4 had better seasons). Car sounds are much much better in FH5, but FH4 has some cars that are still missing in 5. Graphics are good in both, of course 5
You can even launch other launchers through steam and use Steam's controller support. I do it with Epic and Rocket League. Use an app called DS4Windows. It's let's you use a ps4/ps5 controller on any game that supports Xbox controllers. It has a lot of nifty features too like mapping the gyro to different things.
