I have a focus titanium 1.6 tdci my engine management light came on a few weeks back, I got my dad to plug it into a snapon reader and the only faults coming up were to do with attempted entry to the car without being unlocked.

On the 1.6 TDCI, their failure usually shows the 'Engine Malfunction' message on the dash, but not the engine light. After it's happened once, usually it'll happen again within the next few days. Other common triggers on the 1.6 TDCI would be EGR or underboost from a split/cracked boost pipe. Quote.

Thanks, my tunnel rat came this morning so had to give it a go! Very cool! We also have a Ford S-Max so a doubly useful tool. I'm getting P115A low fuel level, P0313 misfire detected with low fuel, and P0299-C turbo underboost.
I'll start off with my car make; Ford Focus MK3, 2013 1.6tdi. ~31,000 miles. I've been having intermittent errors with the car. I've been having the message "Engine malfunction, service now" appear on my dashboard, but then clears after a few seconds. This only happens whilst I'm driving, and has never appeared upon first starting up the car.
